There are moments in life that feel a little surreal—like you have to pause and take it all in because you didn’t quite expect to be there.

This was one of those moments for me.

I was invited to attend a content creator event in Spring, Texas, hosted by Vego Garden—a brand I’ve been working with for a couple of years now. And to be honest, I still remember when they first called me an “influencer.” That was never really my goal.

I just wanted a space to share my garden.

🌱 How It All Started

When I first began posting on Instagram, it was simply because I didn’t want to overwhelm my friends and family on Facebook with all my gardening updates. 😅

So I created a separate account—just for gardening.

Well, I definitely wasn’t planning to be an influencer. And to be honest, I still don’t really like that term—I prefer to be called a “Content Creator” rather than an “Influencer.” But this is one of those things I never really expected.

First of all, I don’t feel like I look like someone who would be in front of the camera. I’ve always preferred being behind the camera—like most photographers do. But years later… here we are.

Before gardening, I did have a little experience with content creation when I was selling handmade jewelry. I learned a few things along the way, and I think I was able to apply some of that when I started sharing my garden. That probably contributed to the growth of my channel.

But honestly, aside from the excitement of building a brand, what I loved most were the connections.

I didn’t have many people in my everyday life that I could talk to about gardening or plants. But online? I found my people.

And that, more than anything, made this journey so meaningful—and so much more fun than just growing a following.

As I continued to post, connect, and learn, I realized that gardening content wasn’t just helpful—it was needed. Especially for beginners and small-space gardeners who were trying to figure things out just like I was.

And that’s when things slowly began to grow… not just in my garden, but online too.

✈️ An Invitation I Didn’t Expect

Fast forward to now—and I found myself flying to Texas with my husband to attend a creator event with Vego Garden.

This wasn’t just any event.

It was a chance to:

  • Visit their farm
  • Tour their headquarters
  • Meet the team behind the brand
  • Connect with other creators I’ve been watching online

And honestly… I didn’t realize how much I needed this experience.

Content creation can feel a little isolating sometimes. You’re behind the camera, editing videos, planning posts, and showing up consistently—but often alone.

So being in a space filled with people who get it?

That was something special.

🌿 Stepping Onto the Farm and Headquarter

Walking onto the Vego Garden farm felt both exciting and grounding at the same time.

Seeing the raised beds, planters, greenhouses, potting benches, and all the garden accessories set up in a real growing space was incredible. Watching how everything was designed with intention made me appreciate the thought behind every detail.

We even got a sneak peek of products that are coming out soon—which made all of us even more excited.

Hearing the story behind the brand directly from the people who built it was so encouraging. And finally meeting Naomi, the PR manager I’ve been talking to for years about our partnership, was incredibly special. It was also so nice to meet the rest of the team behind the Vego Garden account.

I got to see firsthand how humble and easy they are to work with—while still holding a high standard when it comes to creating quality products. They created such a warm and inviting environment, and it truly made me feel honored to be one of their creators.

When we visited their headquarters, I could see how organized and efficient their processes are. We were greeted by smiling team members, and I loved the little touches that made the space feel welcoming—like allowing pets in the office (including Dafu, their “Chief Snack Officer” 🐾) and even having a massage chair available.

It gave me a deeper appreciation not just for the tools I use in my garden, but for the company I’ve partnered with for so long.

It wasn’t just about products anymore—it was about purpose.

🤝 Meeting the People Behind the Screens

One of the most meaningful parts of the trip was finally meeting other garden creators in person.

People I’ve followed…
People I’ve learned from…
People I’ve interacted with online…

All in one place.

There’s something powerful about being surrounded by others who share the same passion. Conversations flowed so naturally—from gardening tips to content struggles to life outside of social media.

It reminded me that behind every account is a real person… with their own story, journey, and heart for what they do.

🎥 A Fresh Perspective on Content Creation

This trip didn’t just inspire me as a gardener—it refreshed me as a creator.

Being around other creatives reminded me:

  • Why I started
  • Why consistency matters
  • Why storytelling is so powerful

Sometimes, when you’re creating content regularly, you can fall into a routine—or even a rut.

But this experience gave me new ideas, new energy, and a renewed sense of purpose.

🌱 What This Means to Me

If you told me a few years ago that my small backyard garden would lead to something like this… I probably wouldn’t have believed you.

But here I am.

And I’m so grateful.

Grateful for the journey.
Grateful for the lessons.
Grateful for every single one of you who has followed along, supported, and encouraged me.

Because truly—this didn’t happen in isolation.

💛 A Little Encouragement for You

If you’re reading this and you’re just starting your gardening journey—or even thinking about it—this is your reminder:

Start where you are.

You don’t need a big space.
You don’t need everything figured out.
You don’t need to be perfect.

You just need to begin.

Because you never know where it might lead.

🌿 Let’s Keep Growing Together

This experience has inspired me to keep sharing, keep teaching, and keep growing—not just plants, but this community we’re building together.

And I’m excited for what’s ahead.

💬 I’d love to hear from you:
Have you ever had a moment where something small turned into something bigger than you expected?
